Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones said Monday he has received full medical clearance following last season’s Achilles injury and plans to take part in every drill when training camp opens this week.
Jones appeared on the Pat McAfee Show and delivered an upbeat assessment of his recovery.
“I’m feeling really good and I’m gonna be full go to start training camp.. I’m ready to go,” he said.
The former Duke standout suffered a leg fracture that limited his effectiveness in the second half of 2025 and later tore his Achilles in Week 13, ending his campaign. The Colts dropped their final seven games after the injuries and finished outside the playoffs for the fifth consecutive year.
Before those setbacks, Jones guided the team to an 8-2 mark through 10 weeks and posted 3,101 passing yards and 19 touchdowns, both the second-highest totals of his career. He signed a two-year contract this offseason that can reach a maximum value of $100 million after an initial one-year agreement.
During organized team activities and minicamp, Jones’ workload stayed restricted while he continued rehabbing his lower legs. Those limitations are now gone, according to the quarterback.
He told McAfee the plan is to rejoin 11-on-11 team periods on the first day of practice.
Camp begins Wednesday at the team’s facility. Jones noted a few residual elements of the rehabilitation process remain, yet he insisted he can perform every action he completed prior to the injuries. The positive update removes uncertainty that had surrounded the 29-year-old’s readiness entering his second season with the franchise.
Indianapolis ranked eighth in scoring last year at 27.4 points per game even after the late collapse. With Jones healthier and more familiar with the scheme under head coach Shane Steichen, the offense could expand on those gains.
“But I think we’ll be able to move a little bit quicker into some of the stuff we started to do last year through the season,” Jones said. “It’s my second year [with Indianapolis]… I feel good about where we’re at with our offense… But I am excited about our group.”
Team officials hope the veteran can help end a playoff drought that stretches back to the 2020 season.
Jones will report with the rest of the roster this week and is expected to operate without restrictions from the outset.
