As the 2023 season draws to a close, the betting odds for the 2024 Heisman Trophy have already made their debut, and it’s no surprise that Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers is positioned as the early favorite to claim the prestigious award.

Despite speculation about his potential entry into the NFL draft, there has been no concrete indication that Ewers intends to take that route.

With only two seasons of college football experience and several games missed due to injuries, it appears that returning to Texas for his junior season would be the wisest course of action for the talented quarterback.

The 2023 season may not have concluded exactly as Texas had hoped, but it was undeniably a success. The Longhorns concluded the season with an impressive 12-2 record and secured the Big 12 championship, marking their first conference title since the days of Mack Brown and Colt McCoy back in 2009.

Under the guidance of head coach Steve Sarkisian, Texas has transformed into a legitimate national title contender in just three short years. Sarkisian’s remarkable recruiting prowess and elite offensive strategies have positioned the Longhorns for remarkable success, and the sky truly is the limit for what this team can achieve.

Given his status as the former No. 1 recruit in the nation, it comes as no surprise that Quinn Ewers is the early frontrunner to clinch the 2024 Heisman Trophy.

Looking ahead, Ewers is set to return for his junior season, fresh off an appearance in the College Football Playoff. Additionally, the Texas Longhorns are slated to join the SEC in 2024, boasting a favorable schedule and an abundance of offensive talent.

While winning the Heisman is an arduous endeavor, Ewers has the support of a formidable team that can elevate his game to an elite level and potentially help him secure the coveted Heisman Trophy.
