Steelers Projected To Land QB Of The Future In NFL Draft

The Pittsburgh Steelers are facing some significant decisions in the upcoming offseason, particularly when it comes to their quarterback situation.

One potential solution being considered is turning to the NFL Draft, and in a recent mock draft, the Steelers made an intriguing choice by selecting Oregon quarterback and Heisman finalist Bo Nix with the 23rd overall pick.

“He turns 24 in February, and yes, you could argue they just tried this with Kenny Pickett, who started 49 college games (but only had one good season). Nix has been better for longer, and after 61 starts, looks like a very polished prospect.”

Bo Nix boasts an impressive college career, accumulating a total of 15,352 passing yards and 113 touchdowns, with only 26 interceptions. During his two years at Oregon, Nix showcased his skills by completing 658 of 879 passes, amassing 8,101 yards, and throwing 74 touchdowns, all while limiting his interceptions to just 10.

The addition of Bo Nix to the Steelers’ roster could signal the end of Mason Rudolph’s tenure with the team.

While it’s unlikely that Kenny Pickett, another talented quarterback, will be leaving Pittsburgh this offseason, Nix’s arrival could lead to a competitive quarterback situation. This move would undoubtedly open the door for change at the quarterback position for the Steelers in the 2024 season.

However, it’s essential to consider that the Steelers’ playoff performance over the next few weeks could influence their plans and their commitment to keeping Mason Rudolph as part of their long-term strategy. The outcome of their postseason run may impact their decisions regarding the quarterback position in the near future.
