Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts does not seem too concerned about the fact that his team suffered its second straight blowout loss after falling to the Dallas Cowboys by a score of 33-13 on Sunday night.

When asked about the Eagles’ current situation, Hurts remained positive.

“This is something we’re going through, not something we’re stuck in,” Hurts said, via Philadelphia’s official YouTube account.

Hurts, who lost a fumble for the fifth time this season in the Cowboys defeat, added that he himself needs to be better.

“We have to be better, I have to be better with my ball security as a runner,” he said.

Hurts went 18-for-27 with 197 yards while carrying the ball five times for 30 yards in Week 14. It marked the first time that the signal-caller was held without a touchdown this season.

On the 2023 campaign overall, Hurts has thrown for 3,192 yards, 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while completing 66.5 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 93.5. He has also rushed for 460 yards and 12 scores while averaging 3.7 yards per carry.

The 25-year-old has unquestionably taken a bit of a step back this season after finishing second in NFL MVP voting and making the Pro Bowl a year ago.

Hurts, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama and the University of Oklahoma, was selected by Philly in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

He earned the Eagles’ full-time starting quarterback job in 2021 and then broke out last season after leading his team to an NFC East division title and a Super Bowl appearance.

Philadelphia had previously owned the NFL’s best record at 10-1 this year, but two losses in a row have dropped the Birds to 10-3 and into second place in the division. The Cowboys are also 10-3, but they own the tiebreaker.

Jalen Hurts and the Eagles will aim to get back on track when they take on the Seattle Seahawks next Monday.
