Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles had a disastrous end to their 2023-24 campaign, going 1-5 over their last six regular-season games and then getting eliminated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.

However, in spite of all of the carnage, Hurts is remaining confident in his team moving forward.

“I have a ton of confidence in everyone in this building,” Hurts said, via Tim McManus of ESPN. “It’s just a matter of us going out there and playing clean football. That is something that we have not done.”

The quarterback also appeared to throw his support behind head coach Nick Sirianni, who is rumored to be on the hot seat.

“I didn’t know he was going anywhere,” Hurts said when asked if he wanted Sirianni back for 2024.

Hurts went 25-for-35 with 250 yards and a touchdown during the Eagles’ 32-9 loss to the Buccaneers on Monday night. Philadelphia fell behind 13-0 early on and was never able to recover.

During the regular season, Hurts threw for 3,858 yards, 23 touchdowns and 15 interceptions while completing 65.4 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 89.1. In addition, he rushed for 605 yards and 15 scores, averaging 3.9 yards per carry.

Hurts, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama and the University of Oklahoma, was selected by Philly in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

The 25-year-old took over as the Eagles’ full-time starter under center in 2021, and the following year, he led Philadelphia to a Super Bowl appearance.

He appeared on track to guide Philly to another trip to the Super Bowl this season, as the Birds were 10-1 through November. However, the team proceeded to collapse from that point moving forward.

As confident as Jalen Hurts may be in the club as it currently stands, it’s almost a certainty that the Eagles will be making significant changes this offseason.
