NFL Analysis Network

In the matchup of two of the most historic NFL franchises, here are three bold predictions for the Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys.

On Sunday afternoon, the Dallas Cowboys will be hosting the Green Bay Packers in a matchup of two of the most legendary teams in the NFL. This will be the first time the two teams will be facing off this season, as they both had very strong seasons.

For the Cowboys, they secured the No.2 seed in the NFC by winning the NFC East this season. For a team that has been good at home, this is good news for the Cowboys, who will be hosting the Packers in the wild-card round.

NFL NEWS & RUMORS: Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers Updates

The Packers are making their first playoff appearance with Jordan Love as the starting quarterback in his first season. This season has to have created optimism in Green Bay, as the Packers are in the playoffs in their first season without Aaron Rodgers.

As we head into Sunday’s matchup, here are three bold predictions for the game.

Prescott and Lamb keep rolling

Coming into the playoffs, one of the best combinations in the league of late has been Dak Prescott and Cee Dee Lamb. Lamb is emerging as one of the best wide receivers in the league, and Prescott has also been playing some of the best football in his career.

While the Packers’ passing defense has been pretty good this season, Prescott and Lamb have been great at home. At home, Prescott is averaging over 300 passing yards per game and Lamb is averaging over 100 receiving yards per game.

Expect this duo to keep it going this weekend for the Cowboys.

Prediction: Prescott totals over 300 passing yards, Lamb totals over 100 receiving yards

Pollard leads the way

Coming into the game, one of the biggest advantages for either team on offense or defense is going to be the Cowboys’ ability to run the ball on the Packers. While the Packers’ pass defense has been pretty good this season, they do have a weakness on the ground.

The Packers are allowing 128.3 rushing yards per game, which is 28th in the league. While the Cowboys’ passing attack is great, the Cowboys would be wise to try and exploit the Packers’ weaknesses on the ground.

Even though Pollard hasn’t had a lot of big performances of late, he is more than capable of totaling over 100 rushing yards if given the chance. The last time Pollard played Green Bay, he was able to go over the 100-yard mark.

Prediction: Pollard totals 110 rushing yards

Cowboys avoid the letdown

Coming into this game, it feels like all of the pressure is on the Cowboys and the Packers aren’t expected to compete. While that might be true, it is a dangerous narrative for the Cowboys, who have a history of disappointment in the playoffs recently.

For the Packers, not many people expected them to be in the playoffs in their first season without Aaron Rodgers, but they were able to make it with Jordan Love under center. Playing a team that has nothing to lose is always a risky proposition, especially for one that has a lot of pressure on them to win in the playoffs.

NFL NEWS & RUMORS: Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers Updates

While recent history might not bode well for the Cowboys, it’s hard to imagine this is the game that they would lose at home in the playoffs.

Prediction: Cowboys avoid disaster, final score: Cowboys 30 Packers 17
