The Dallas Cowboys suffered another NFL postseason setback, eliminated by the Green Bay Packers during the wild-card weekend despite being the No. 2 seed.

This extends their absence from the NFC championship game to 28 years, prompting widespread expectations of playoff failures among NFL enthusiasts.

Terrell Owens, a former Cowboys wide receiver, shared his insights on the team’s continual disappointments during his appearance on The Morning Roast with Bonta and Shasky on KGMZ-FM in San Francisco. Owens, who experienced two playoff losses in his three-year tenure with Dallas, expressed his lack of surprise at the team’s latest letdown.

Owens candidly critiqued the Cowboys’ management, suggesting that significant leadership changes, possibly involving the owner and general manager, are necessary for the team’s success. He singled out Jerry Jones, who holds both positions, implying that Jones prioritizes profitability over winning, a mindset Owens believes undermines the team’s performance.

“With the Cowboys, honestly, I kind of expected that, and that’s just me being honest,” Owens said. “I kind of take myself out of being a fan, I try and take myself out of the biases. But that organization is just not really run well.

“I think in order for that team to really win, there’s going to have to be some front-office, some hierarchy-type changes, probably starting with the owner and maybe the GM. That’s just me,” Owens continued. “They’re not going to win anytime soon.”

Owens also voiced a bold suggestion to the Cowboys’ fanbase, urging them to consider boycotting games until the team reaches the NFC Championship. His comments reflect a broader frustration among fans and observers about the team’s direction and performance under Jones’s leadership.

“For Jerry Jones, that money is always going to win, whether they win or lose or draw. So it doesn’t matter what they do,” Owens said. “So these Cowboys fans, they can keep crying. The best thing they can do is boycott going to some of those Cowboy games for a number of years until they till they get to at least the NFC Championship.”

Despite recurring playoff disappointments, the Cowboys are expected to commence the next season with high hopes for a Super Bowl victory. However, Owens remains skeptical about any significant improvement as long as the current management structure remains in place.
