NFL Insider Reveals Timeline For Cowboys, Mike McCarthy

Mike McCarthy

Things are taking a concerning turn for Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy following the playoff disappointment on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

Jane Slater of the NFL Network reported more about the potential timeline of a decision from the Cowboys about McCarthy.

“A source [tells] me Mike McCarthy will have a meeting with his coaches at 11. Players at 12. That’s standard. Internally a lot of people I’ve spoke to are expressing frustration with another 12 win season and another postseason collapse.”

Additionally, Slater disclosed that a well-connected source within the team is not ruling out any possibilities regarding McCarthy’s future with the Dallas Cowboys.

“I have no idea, but I’d imagine all imaginable options will be discussed and wouldn’t rule out anything.”

The Cowboys struggled throughout the weekend’s game, falling behind 27-0 within the first half. Turnovers continued to plague Dak Prescott, and the defense didn’t provide substantial assistance either.

This marks the third consecutive season with a 12-5 record under Mike McCarthy, but the third consecutive early exit when it matters the most.

Jerry Jones has some major decisions to make and we’re sure to find out more information from the Cowboys in the very near future.
