Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill is dealing with an ankle injury, but a source says that there is optimism that Hill will play against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Hill initially suffered the injury during his team’s Week 14 loss to the Tennessee Titans. He did not participate in the Dolphins’ win over the New York Jets last weekend as a result.

The 29-year-old is in the middle of one of the best seasons ever for a wide out, as he has hauled in 97 receptions for 1,542 yards and 12 touchdowns. He leads the NFL in the latter two categories.

Hill was on pace to hit 2,000 yards, which would make him the first receiver in league history to achieve that feat, but the ankle issue has obviously thrown a wrench into things.

The superstar pass-catcher, who played his collegiate football at West Alabama, was originally selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He spent the first six seasons of his career with the Chiefs, making the Pro Bowl every year while also earning four First-Team All-Pro selections. Most importantly, he helped lead Kansas City to a Super Bowl championship during the 2019-20 campaign.

Due to financial constraints, the Chiefs ultimately dealt Hill to the Dolphins in March 2022. During his debut campaign in Miami, Hill caught 119 passes for 1,710 yards and seven scores en route to another Pro Bowl appearance. He also notched First-Team All-Pro honors yet again.

The Dolphins are 10-4 and can clinch the AFC East division title with a win over the Cowboys coupled with a Buffalo Bills loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday night.

Miami has not win a division crown since 2008. It has also made just three playoff appearances overall since 2002 and has not won a postseason game since January 2001.

After battling Dallas this weekend, the Dolphins will take on the Baltimore Ravens and the Bills to wrap up the regular season.

We’ll see if Tyreek Hill ultimately suits up against the Cowboys.
