Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce is not ready to commit to a starting quarterback for his team’s Week 15 meeting with the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night.

When asked about the situation, Pierce said the club is “still evaluating” things and that the Raiders are “going through that process now.” He also added that they would still how the week goes before making any decisions, via Las Vegas’ official YouTube account.

Aidan O’Connell has started the last five games for the Raiders, but his last outing was particularly tough, as he went 21-for-32 with 172 yards and an interception in a listless 3-0 loss to the Minnesota Vikings this past Sunday.

In seven appearances and six starts overall this season, O’Connell has thrown for 1,365 yards, four touchdowns and seven picks while completing 63.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 74.8.

Should the Raiders decide to move away from O’Connell against the Chargers, they would probably roll with Jimmy Garoppolo, whom the club signed to a three-year deal this past offseason.

Garoppolo has made six starts this year and has struggled, totaling 1,205 yards, seven touchdowns and nine interceptions while completing 65.5 percent of his throws and registering a passer rating of 78.1. He has missed some time due to injuries—most notably a concussion—and ultimately lost his job to O’Connell in late October.

Regardless of who has been under center for Las Vegas this season, the offense has labored, ranking 29th in the NFL in yardage and 28th in scoring.

The Raiders are just 5-8 on the year and have lost three games in a row. They are a languishing franchise that has only made two playoff appearances since 2003 and has not won a playoff game since last making it to the Super Bowl during the 2002-03 campaign.
