Chiefs Legend Brutally Rips Into Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce

Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have expressed outward displays of frustration on the field over the last several weeks, and a Chiefs legend is tired of seeing it.

During an appearance on Good Morning Football this week, former Chiefs wide receiver Dante Hall essentially said that Mahomes and Kelce need to grow up.

“It’s like my little kids running around here on Christmas Day. We got you a Christmas tree filled with presents, and you’re acting like spoiled little brats,” Hall said. “These guys know I love them. So, as a friend, as a brother, I had to call you out. This is not a good look. I’m watching the game with my kids, my daughter loves Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, and you’re acting like that? Come on, guys. Be better, and I think the team will be better.”

Most recently, Kelce slammed his helmet on the sideline during the first half of Kansas City’s loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day. That led to head coach Andy Reid coming over and giving Kelce a shove. He also did not allow him to retrieve his helmet at first.

That outburst came a couple of weeks after Mahomes threw a tantrum after an offensive offsides call wiped out what would have been a go-ahead touchdown in what ended up being a loss to the Buffalo Bills. Mahomes’ antics continued after the game, as he mentioned what he felt was a bad call to Bills quarterback Josh Allen in their postgame on-field handshake and then continued his assault on the officials in his press conference.

Hall, who spent seven seasons in Kansas City as an electrifying special teamer between 2000 and 2006, has a point: the behavior of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce is not a good look, and it’s not like it’s helping the Chiefs play better on the field.

Kansas City is 9-6 on the season and has lost three of its last four games. It has also gone just 3-5 after starting the year 6-1. The Chiefs missed a chance to clinch the AFC West division title this past week, and they now have no chance of securing home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Kansas City will battle the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday. It will then wrap up the regular season when it takes on the Los Angeles Chargers on Jan. 7.
