Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence did not practice on Wednesday due to a shoulder injury, and he isn’t sure if he will be able to do much more on Thursday, either.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Lawrence said he wasn’t sure if he would be able to play in the Jaguars’ pivotal Week 17 matchup with the Carolina Panthers this Sunday.

“Of course I will do anything I can to be out there to play,” Lawrence said, via Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network.

Lawrence suffered the injury during his team’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this past weekend. He struggled in the defeat, going 17-for-29 with 211 yards, a touchdown and a couple of interceptions.

On the season overall, Lawrence has thrown for 3,736 yards, 19 touchdowns and 12 picks while completing 65.5 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 89.1 in what could be described as a rather significant step back for the third-year signal-caller.

Lawrence, who played his collegiate football at Clemson, was selected by Jacksonville with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.

He had a disappointing rookie campaign, totaling 3,641 yards, 12 touchdowns and a league-worst 17 interceptions while completing 59.6 percent of his throws and registering a passer rating of 71.9.

Then, last year, Lawrence broke out, finishing with 4,113 yards, 25 touchdowns and eight picks while completing 66.3 percent of his throws and recording a passer rating of 95.2 en route to a Pro Bowl appearance. Most importantly, he led the Jags to an AFC South division title and a thrilling Wild Card Round playoff win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Jaguars were 8-3 earlier in the year and appeared destined to cruise to another division crown, but they have proceeded to lose four games in a row to fall into a three-way tie with the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans. They still hold the tiebreaker, but this has been a rather significant collapse regardless.

After facing the Panthers this weekend, Jacksonville will battle the Tennessee Titans to wrap up the regular season on Jan. 7.
