Before embarking on the most significant game of his young NFL career last Sunday, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love received a much-needed boost from a trusted mentor. That mentor would be former Packers’ superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

With the Packers looking to secure a playoff spot in Week 18 by defeating the Chicago Bears, Love found motivation in the form of a text message from none other than Rodgers, as revealed in his conversation with Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer.

Love described the message as a simple yet impactful gesture, and the text from Rodgers simply read, “Go beat the Bears.”

Motivated by this encouraging message, Love took to the field and delivered an outstanding performance. He completed an impressive 27 of 32 passes for 316 yards, resulting in two touchdowns as the Packers emerged victorious with a 17-9 win over the Bears.

This season marks Love’s debut as the starting quarterback for the Packers following Rodgers’ departure during the previous offseason, concluding a remarkable 15-year tenure as the face of Green Bay’s franchise. Filling the shoes of a legendary quarterback like Rodgers was undoubtedly a daunting challenge, but Love has risen to the occasion admirably.

The Packers had a rocky start to their campaign, beginning with a 2-5 record. However, they rallied in the latter part of the season, securing seven wins out of their last 10 games to secure a spot in the playoffs. A significant factor in this resurgence was Love’s notable improvement on the field.

During the initial seven games of the season, Jordan Love completed 57.7% of his passes, accumulating 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions. In contrast, in the subsequent 10 games, his performance reached new heights with a completion rate of 68.7% and an impressive 21 touchdowns against just three interceptions. Love’s development and contributions have played a pivotal role in the Packers’ resurgence and postseason qualification.

Aaron Rodgers truly has switched over his ownership stake in the Bears to Love.
