Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander thinks Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is one of the top signal-callers in football.

Well, not for the reasons you think.

Alexander picked off Prescott during the first half of the Packers’ 48-32 Wild Card Round win over the Cowboys on Sunday, setting up a touchdown by running back Aaron Jones that gave Green Bay a 14-0 lead.

Afterward, Alexander spoke on the interception…and Prescott.

“It was lit, honestly. There was no better feeling,” Alexander said, via Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers’ official team website. “There’s a few quarterbacks who’ve thrown me multiple picks in my career and Dak is now one of them. So he’s among my top QBs.”

Alexander also logged seven tackles in the victory.

It was certainly a huge moment for Alexander, whose regular season was marred by injuries and some rather strange behavior, like when he was suspended by the team for going to midfield for a pregame coin toss without being named a team captain. He played in just seven games, registering 27 tackles, a forced fumble and five passes defended.

Additionally, Alexander’s status for the Wild Card Round was actually up in the air after he stepped on a teammate’s foot in practice last week, resulting in an ankle injury.

However, when Alexander is locked in, there is no doubt that the 26-year-old is one of the better cornerbacks in football, as evidenced by his two Pro Bowl appearances.

Alexander, who played his collegiate football at Louisville, was selected by the Packers with the 18th overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Green Bay went 9-8 during the regular season, snaring the final Wild Card spot in the NFC. It will now head further out west to battle the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round next weekend.
