The Philadelphia Eagles’ dramatic decline from Week 13 onwards was nothing short of historic, culminating in a disheartening 32-9 loss to the Bucs on Monday night.

In the aftermath of Philadelphia’s playoff disappointment, ESPN’s Louis Riddick didn’t mince words when discussing head coach Nick Sirianni. He suggested that the Eagles might seriously contemplate parting ways with Sirianni and pursuing the services of the legendary Bill Belichick.

“You made changes in the middle of the season when you took Sean Desai out of there, when you put Matt Patricia in there… Then when you look at the football team itself… Look, the team is devoid of talent at the second level and at the third level at the safety position. … Is [Nick Sirianni] really the guy that you want leading the charge going down the stretch here or is Bill Belichick in-play? Because personally I think it’s something that you definitely have to consider.”

Philadelphia’s season concluded with an 11-6 record, quite a drop from their impressive 10-1 start. Signs of trouble had been brewing for weeks as the team struggled to secure wins in almost every victory.

Belichick could be exactly the coach to get things turned around for the Eagles. He has been rumored to be looking for a team with talent that is underachieving. It doesn’t get much more from an underachieving standpoint than Philadelphia.

Interestingly, Bill Belichick’s name has surfaced in connection with various coaching positions, including a potential move to the division rival Cowboys.
