The Philadelphia Eagles snapped their three-game losing streak on Christmas Day against the New York Giants with a 33-25 victory. While it was nice to get back into the win column, it was far from a perfect performance from Philadelphia.

A few cracks in their armor have shown during the losing streak as the Eagles. People have begun questioning the efficiency of the offense run by Jalen Hurts and the defense has sometimes struggled to slow down the run.

Again, Philadelphia had its issues defending the run as the Giants went over the 100-yard mark as a team. A 20-3 halftime lead disappeared as well, as New York got back into the game with Tyrod Taylor replacing Tommy DeVito at quarterback in the second half.

Offensively, Hurts was solid for the most part. He completed 24-of-38 passes for 301 yards, his first time reaching the 300-yard mark since Week 8 against the Washington Commanders. But, he threw another interception and the team fumbled four times, losing one of them.

While a step in the right direction, it wasn’t the prettiest performance for the team. After the game, Hurts got brutally honest when talking about and assessing his team.

“It’s still a process. It’s still a journey. There’s no arrival” Hurts said to Martin Frank, an Eagles and NFL writer for the Delaware News Journal.

The Eagles certainly caught a lot of breaks against the Giants, as numerous questionable calls made by the referee crew went in their favor. Some of them turned into points for Philadelphia or took points off the board for New York, which would have changed the tide of the game.

It certainly had to feel good for the team to get back into the win column, officially eliminating their NFC East rivals from the playoffs in the process. However, the Eagles know if they want to achieve their ultimate goal of reaching the Super Bowl, there is still plenty of work left to do.

They will look to continue building the positive momentum in a matchup against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17. After that, they will play their regular season finale against the Giants at MetLife Stadium.
