Dak Prescott Says Cowboys Can’t Rely On Home-Field Advantage

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys locked up the No. 2 seed in the NFC this past Sunday, meaning they will have home-field advantage against anyone within the conference not named the San Francisco 49ers.

This seems like a pretty big deal for the Cowboys, who were the only team in the NFL that went undefeated at home this season.

However, as much as he appreciates the home fans, Prescott does not want Dallas using AT&T Stadium as a crutch in the playoffs.

“It’s huge — the atmosphere the Cowboys’ fans have created these last two years,” Prescott said, via Patrik Walker the Cowboys’ official team website. “I can you [tell] this: we can’t lean on that. We’ve got to lean on our preparation. We’ve got to commit to studying these guys, executing and playing our very best; and playing to our standard.”

Dallas ended its regular season with a resounding 38-15 road victory over the Washington Commanders, clinching the NFC East division title in the process. Prescott went 31-for-36 with 279 yards, four touchdowns and an interception in the win, putting an exclamation point on what was a phenomenal 17-game campaign for the veteran.

Still, Prescott has his sights set on much bigger things.

“Very ready,” he said of potentially making a deep playoff run. “Coming off of the past years, understanding the team that we have, knowing that coming into this season that we had a team that could compete, and we wanted to put ourselves in this position, and to stay in the moment each and every moment and not look forward to this.”

The 30-year-old led the league with 36 touchdown passes to go along with 4,516 yards and just nine picks this year. He also completed 69.5 percent of his throws while posting a passer rating of 105.9.

Dak Prescott and the Cowboys went 12-5 during the regular season and will host the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs next Sunday.
