The Buffalo Bills eliminated Mike Tomlin’s Pittsburgh Steelers from the NFL playoffs on Monday, prompting questions about Tomlin’s future. Tomlin currently has one year left on his contract with the Steelers, and when a reporter raised this point during a postgame press conference, he abruptly left. That has led to rumors about him potentially coaching the Dallas Cowboys.

While the available NFL coaching positions may not seem suitable for the former Super Bowl champion, there is one particular job opening that has generated significant attention.

Many speculate that the Cowboys could part ways with their head coach, Mike McCarthy, following their loss to the Green Bay Packers. Some even suggest that Tomlin could be a potential candidate for the Cowboys’ coaching position.

Fox Sports analyst Colin Cowherd is among those pushing the idea of Mike Tomlin to the Cowboys.

“I’d love to see Tomlin in Dallas. He is very capable of dealing with drama…I think it’s fair to say, in some big games this year, the Cowboys lacked toughness.”

During Monday’s game against the Bills, the Steelers managed to stay competitive, narrowing the gap to within seven points after trailing by 21.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has not yet addressed McCarthy’s job status. However, considering the high expectations placed on the Dallas team at the beginning of the season and the start of the playoffs, McCarthy’s job security is undoubtedly under scrutiny.
