Justin Fields could be playing his final game as a member of the Chicago Bears this Sunday, and what better way to potentially end his Bears career than battling the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.

Fields spoke about the upcoming matchup against the Packers and explained the significance of potentially ending the season with a win over the Bears’ NFC North division rivals.

“I think it would mean a lot to the team, the fans, the city,” Fields said, via Patrick Finley of The Chicago Sun-Times. “I think it’d be great. We know Green Bay’s playing for a lot, what’s at stake. They’re playing for a playoff spot right now. So I just think that with all of that on the table it would be a great feeling to end the season with a win in Lambeau up there.”

The Bears opened their season with a loss to the Packers at home. Fields went 24-for-37 with 216 yards, a touchdown and an interception while carrying the ball nine times for 59 yards.

Chicago began the season with a record of 0-4, but it has rebounded to go 7-5 over its last 12 games. It has also won four of its last five.

In 12 games this year, Fields has thrown for 2,414 yards, 16 touchdowns and nine picks while completing 61 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 85.8. He has also rushed for 630 yards and four scores.

The 24-year-old missed four games due to a dislocated thumb.

Fields is in his third season with the Bears after being taken by the club with the 11th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. His time in Chicago has not exactly been smooth, as he has gone just 10-27 as a starter and has been a poster child of inconsistency.

However, there is no question that Fields has shown flashes of brilliance this season, like between Weeks 4 and 5 when he totaled eight passing touchdowns and one interception.

Regardless of Fields’ potential, the Bears seem likely to move on from him this offseason, as they own the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft (via the Carolina Panthers) and are expected to take a quarterback.

If this is Justin Fields’ last game with Chicago, perhaps he will end things on an incredibly high note.
