In a stunning turn of events in the football world, three prominent coaches – Pete Carroll, Bill Belichick, and Nick Saban – found themselves departing from the sport within a matter of days.

Pete Carroll was unceremoniously relieved of his coaching duties by the Seahawks, while Bill Belichick faced a similar fate with the Patriots. Meanwhile, Nick Saban, a coaching legend, chose to retire from his illustrious career.

Although there are whispers of Belichick’s potential return to coaching in pursuit of the most wins record, and speculations that Carroll might embark on a fresh coaching journey, at present, these three seasoned coaches have exited the game.

Richard Sherman, a former standout in both Stanford and the NFL, shares a special bond with Pete Carroll. It was Carroll who took a chance on Sherman, offering him an opportunity straight out of college.

Carroll assumed the role of head coach for the Seahawks in 2010, and Sherman was drafted by the organization in 2011. He remained with the team until 2017, playing a pivotal role in the iconic “Legion of Boom” secondary and contributing significantly to their Super Bowl victory and another Super Bowl appearance.

Following the Seahawks’ decision to part ways with Carroll, Sherman disclosed on a recent episode of “Undisputed” that he believes the Los Angeles Chargers would be the ideal destination for his former coach. Sherman, while reflecting on Carroll’s influence not only on his own life but also on the past and present players, confirmed that Carroll harbors a desire to continue coaching in the NFL.

“I got a feeling that if one of these teams called and interviewed him he’d be a hard one to pass up because of the way he runs his program. Call me crazy Skip, but if the Los Angeles called Pete Carroll that would be a match made in heaven.”

Sherman went on to explain that Carroll possesses the potential to address a longstanding challenge for the Chargers – building a substantial fan base in Los Angeles. He also expressed his belief that Carroll could bring about a transformation in the Chargers’ defense and overall team culture.
