Alabama Transfer Settles On Choice Of Team’s Arch-Rival

Alabama fans have always harbored a deep-seated disdain, not only for their arch-rivals at Auburn but also for former Crimson Tide players who switch allegiances to the Tigers.

Consequently, Antonio Kite, a defensive back, will likely find himself in the crosshairs of Tuscaloosa’s displeasure for some time to come.

Reports from On3 Sports reveal that Kite has committed to Auburn following his entry into the transfer portal, a decision that comes in the wake of Nick Saban’s retirement last week.

This move is a stark departure from Kite’s initial choice as a highly regarded four-star prospect in the Class of 2022 when he opted for the Crimson Tide over the Tigers nearly three years ago.

During his days as a prospect, Kite held a respectable national ranking, standing as the 227th overall prospect in the country. He was also lauded as the 10th-best athlete nationwide and ranked 11th among players hailing from the state of Alabama.

However, Kite’s time on the field was rather limited during his tenure under Saban at the University of Alabama.

There is, of course, a degree of uncertainty surrounding Antonio Kite’s future role under Auburn’s new head coach, Hugh Freeze. The prospect of a significant uptick in playing time remains to be seen.

Kite now joins the list of players that Alabama’s new head coach, Kalen DeBoer, will need to find replacements for within his first six months at the helm.
