San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel sustained a shoulder injury during the NFC Divisional game against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday.

The injury occurred in the first quarter when Samuel was tackled forcefully.

Although the initial x-rays on his shoulder showed no major damage, his availability for the upcoming NFC Championship Game on Sunday remains uncertain, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

“We also have some uncertainty related to Deebo Samuel. He had x-rays and a battery of tests this past week on his shoulder that knocked him out of the game. No fracture, that is a very good sign. He’s still in a lot of pain and still struggling to get full movement in his shoulder. He did rehab right after the injury that night, so he really started the road to recovery. We’ll get more information on his status today based on whether or not he’s able to practice.”

The 49ers’ offensive performance suffered a setback after Samuel’s departure from the game. The team struggled to find their rhythm, leading to a lack of cohesion among the players.

The potential return of Deebo Samuel would have a significant impact on both the passing and running aspects of the game, given his versatile contributions to the team.

If the 49ers want to knock off the Detroit Lions and get into the Super Bowl, they’ll need Samuel on the field. He’s the heart and soul of their offense. Hopefully, he can get back on the right track in the next few days.

The NFC Championship Game is scheduled to kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
