1 Shocking Stat Shows How Bad Eagles Are Slipping After Week 14

The Philadelphia Eagles lost their second straight game in blowout fashion this past Sunday, falling to the Dallas Cowboys by a score of 33-13. This comes one week after the Eagles lost to the San Francisco 49ers by a score of 42-19.

Philadelphia went from being 10-1 and owning the best record in the NFL to now sitting at 10-3 and in second place in the NFC East due to losing to the tiebreaker to the Cowboys.

As a matter of fact, Philly has been so bad in December that it currently lays the dubious claim to the worst point differential in the NFL thus far this month at minus-43 (h/t NFL on CBS).

To put into perspective just how bad the Birds have been over their first two games of December, the Washington Commanders have the second-worst point differential at minus-30. Then you have the 1-12 Carolina Panthers, who come in third-worst at minus-25.

The Eagles fell behind the Cowboys 24-6 at halftime and were never able to recover. They did strike first in the second half to close to within 24-13, but Dallas answered with a field goal and scored nine unanswered second-half points in total to come away with the 20-point victory.

Philadelphia was penalized 10 times in the loss and turned the ball over three times. The Eagles were also dominated by Dallas in time of possession, as the Cowboys held the pigskin for 36:36 compared to just 23:24 for Philly.

Suddenly, the Eagles appear to be in trouble with just four games remaining during the regular season. Fortunately, their schedule will get considerably easier from here on out, as they will face the sliding Seattle Seahawks next weekend before sandwiching two games with the New York Giants around a New Year’s Eve meeting with the Arizona Cardinals.

Still, there is no doubt that Philadelphia—which appeared to be the clear NFC favorite a few weeks ago—has some work to do over the final several weeks of the 2023 campaign.
