According to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Cleveland Cavaliers continue to tell teams that Donovan Mitchell is not for sale.

The Cavaliers are planning to ride out this season with Mitchell.

“Regarding Donovan Mitchell, Cleveland keeps telling teams he’s not for sale,” Scotto said on his podcast. “You go down the list of stars around the league, and there aren’t a lot on the market.”

Mitchell is making $32.6 million this season. He will make $34.8 million next season and has a player option worth $37.1 million for the 2025-26 season.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Donovan Mitchell, Cleveland Cavaliers Updates

A four-time All-Star, Mitchell is averaging 27.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.9 steals and 0.4 blocks this season while shooting 46.0% from the field, 34.2% from 3 and 87.0% from the free-throw line. The 27-year-old is sixth in the NBA in points per game.

The Miami Heat continue to have interest in trading for Mitchell, according to NBA insider Marc Stein. The Heat tried to acquire Mitchell in the summer of 2022. However, the Utah Jazz traded Mitchell to the Cavaliers.

Mitchell has a close relationship with Heat center Bam Adebayo. The Louisville product has been heavily linked to the Heat and New York Knicks, but the Cavaliers continue to send signals that they have no interest in fielding trade offers for Mitchell, who doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract.

Cleveland is 26-16 on the season. They are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings. It makes zero sense for the front office to trade Mitchell unless he’s unhappy and there are no indications that Mitchell is not happy with the Cavaliers.
