Report: Lakers Interested In Trading For Nets’ Spencer Dinwiddie

According to NBA insider Matt Moore of Action Network, the Los Angeles Lakers are interested in trading for Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie.

Dinwiddie is likely to generate a market before the NBA trade deadline, which is on February 8.

“The Lakers are known to have interest in Spencer Dinwiddie and is likely to generate a market before the deadline,” Moore wrote.

Dinwiddie, who grew up in Los Angeles, is averaging 13.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.2 blocks this season while shooting 39.3% from the field, 32.5% from beyond the arc and 78.6% from the free-throw line. He’s making $18.9 million in the final year of his contract.

The Nets beat the Lakers on January 19 in Los Angeles. Dinwiddie put up 19 points, three rebounds and four assists in 33 minutes while shooting 5-of-11 overall, 4-of-8 from 3 and 5-of-5 from the foul line.

According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Lakers are looking for speed and athleticism at the trade deadline. Everyone on the roster is available in trade talks except LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Austin Reaves and Jarred Vanderbilt.

Dinwiddie, 30, has career averages of 13.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.3 blocks with the Detroit Pistons, Nets, Washington Wizards and Dallas Mavericks.

Along with Dinwiddie, the Lakers have been linked to Dejounte Murray, Bruce Brown, Jerami Grant, Terry Rozier, Gary Trent Jr., Dorian Finney-Smith and Royce O’Neale.
