According to NBA insider Jovan Buha of The Athletic, the Los Angeles Lakers are eyeing seven players on the trade market.

The Lakers are interested in trading for Dejounte Murray, Bruce Brown, Jerami Grant, Terry Rozier, Gary Trent Jr., Dorian Finney-Smith and Royce O’Neale.

The Lakers are ready to trade D’Angelo Russell and Jalen Hood-Schifino to the Atlanta Hawks for Murray, who has the same agent as Los Angeles All-Stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Atlanta is widely expected to move Murray before the February 8 trade deadline.

The Toronto Raptors are expected to trade Brown after acquiring the NBA champion from the Indiana Pacers in the blockbuster Pascal Siakam trade. Brown was close to signing with the Lakers last offseason in free agency before signing a two-year, $45 million contract with the Pacers.

Trent Jr. has been linked to the Lakers in the past. Maybe the LAL will try to acquire Trent Jr. and Brown together.

According to NBA insider Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the Portland Trail Blazers are not expected to seriously entertain trade offers for Grant, who signed a five-year, $160 million contract with the Blazers in July before Damian Lillard requested a trade. Portland traded Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Charlotte Hornets are open to trading everyone on the roster except LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller and Mark Williams. Rozier prefers to get traded to the Miami Heat, but he can’t control where he gets traded since he doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract.

According to NBA insider Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the Nets are expected to be buyers at the trade deadline. Brooklyn wants the equivalent of two first-round picks for Finney-Smith, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Los Angeles Lakers Updates

The Lakers are 21-22 on the season. They are in 10th place in the Western Conference standings. The front office is expected to make trades since the current roster is not good enough to compete for a title.
