The Atlanta Hawks are open to trading everyone on the roster except Trae Young and Jalen Johnson, according to NBA insider John Hollinger of The Athletic.

The Hawks are expected to trade Dejounte Murray before the trade deadline in February. Clint Capela, De’Andre Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanovic could be moved as well.

“Young is an offensive maestro with clear defensive weaknesses that must be masked by the rest of the roster, but the 2021 run showed how this is possible,” Hollinger wrote. “Johnson is a rising force who is still under a team-friendly rookie contract for another season and is the other obvious keeper. After that, everything should be on the table, and league sources say that is indeed the case.”

The Hawks are 15-23 on the season. They are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings.

“Although our record is ass right now, we can be a lot better,” Young said. “This is a process, and I’m not worried.”

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Trae Young, Jalen Johnson, Atlanta Hawks Updates

Young is averaging 27.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, 10.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.2 blocks this season while shooting 42.1% from the field, 35.6% from beyond the arc and 85.4% from the free-throw line. He’s making $40.1 million.

Johnson, meanwhile, is averaging 15.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.9 blocks while shooting 57.9% from the floor, 40.0% from 3 and 79.3% from the foul line. He’s making $2.9 million.

Young signed a five-year, $215 million contract with the Hawks in August 2021. Even though Atlanta is struggling this season, Young hasn’t lost faith in head coach Quin Snyder.

“Quin is such a cerebral coach and cerebral person,” Young said. “He needs time. He needs people in there who are going to listen and just give the effort that he says. And it’s a lot — but it can work, it can really work, and it just takes time.”
