According to NBA insider Sam Amick of The Athletic, Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam doesn’t want to be traded to the Sacramento Kings.

Siakam, who becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer, doesn’t view the Kings as a good long-term fit.

“According to two league sources, the Kings should have very little — if any — optimism regarding the prospect of Siakam re-signing in the summer if they were to land him,” Amick wrote. “And while Siakam has not asked for a trade, the sources say he doesn’t view the Kings as a good long-term fit if the Raptors choose to move him.”vw

Siakam is averaging 22.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks for the Raptors this season while shooting 52.5% from the field, 30.8% from beyond the arc and 75.4% from the free-throw line. The 2019 NBA champion is making $37.9 million.

The Kings are in fifth place in the Western Conference standings, while the Raptors are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings. It’s unknown why Siakam doesn’t consider Sacramento as a good long-term fit.

The Indiana Pacers, Atlanta Hawks and Detroit Pistons are interested in acquiring Siakam, but those teams have to make sure the two-time All-Star will re-sign with them in the summer before trading for him.

The 2018-19 Most Improved Player of the Year, Siakam has career averages of 17.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.6 blocks. It remains possible that the Raptors sign Siakam to an extension if the trade market doesn’t work out in Toronto president Masai Ujiri’s favor.

Siakam signed a four-year, $136 million rookie contract extension with the Raptors in October 2019. He’s the only player left from the 2019 championship team.
