Kawhi Leonard has signed a contract extension with the Los Angeles Clippers.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, Leonard signed a three-year, $152.4 million extension with the Clippers.
Leonard joined the Clippers in the summer of 2019 as an unrestricted free agent. He’s one of the best players in NBA history.

Leonard is averaging 23.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.8 blocks this season while shooting 51.6% from the field, 43.0% from beyond the arc and 87.1% from the free-throw line. The two-time Finals MVP could have become a free agent this summer if he declined his 2024-25 player option.
Since joining the Clippers, Leonard is averaging 25.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.6 blocks. The five-time All-Star missed the entire 2021-22 season recovering from an ACL tear in his knee.
The Clippers haven’t reached the NBA Finals yet in the Leonard-Paul George era. LAC is in fourth place in the Western Conference standings right now. The team looks like a title contender with Leonard, George, James Harden and Russell Westbrook leading the way.
