Trade Proposal Sends Hawks’ Bogdan Bogdanovic To Lakers

One NBA writer is proposing that the Los Angeles Lakers acquire Bogdan Bogdanovic from the Atlanta Hawks.

Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Lakers and Hawks:

The Los Angeles Lakers acquire Bogdan Bogdanovic from the Atlanta Hawks for Rui Hachimura, Max Christie and a 2029 first-round pick

The Lakers need more shooters around LeBron James and Anthony Davis, which is why Hughes believes Bogdanovic would be a perfect fit in Los Angeles.

“Bogdanovic is a career 38.6 percent three-point shooter who can play either guard spot, someone who could theoretically replace D’Angelo Russell if he’s ultimately traded for wing depth,” Hughes wrote in his NBA trade proposal. “Hachimura shot it uncharacteristically well from deep in the 2023 postseason and has hit a respectable 36.8 percent of his treys this year. If his growth as a marksman is legit, maybe the Lakers would think twice about adding shooting at the guard spot when they already have it from a forward. That said, other than his habit of missing time because of injury, Bogdanovic would be a clear rotation upgrade in Los Angeles.”

Bogdanovic is averaging 17.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.2 blocks this season while shooting 43.2% from the field, 37.5% from beyond the arc and 90.8% from the free-throw line. The swingman is making $18.7 million.

The Lakers could start Austin Reaves, Bogdanovic, Taurean Prince, LeBron and Davis if Los Angeles’ front office figured out a way to acquire Bogdanovic from Atlanta. That starting lineup features three shooters around LeBron and Davis.
