The Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors discussed a Pascal Siakam trade centered around Harrison Barnes, but a deal didn’t happen because Siakam told the Kings he would not re-sign with them. Siakam becomes an unrestricted NBA free agent this summer.

Siakam is averaging 22.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.3 blocks this season while shooting 52.3% from the floor, 29.7% from 3 and 75.5% from the foul line. The NBA champion and two-time All-Star swingman is making $37.9 million.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Pascal Siakam, Toronto Raptors, Sacramento Kings Updates

Any team that trades for Siakam this season can only offer him a two-year extension. Siakam, if he’s traded by the Raptors, is doubtful to sign an extension, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

Along with the Kings, Siakam has been linked to the Golden State Warriors, Indiana Pacers, Atlanta Hawks and Detroit Pistons. No team is going to trade for Siakam if the forward tells them he’s not interested in re-signing with them.

While Toronto was in Sacramento, Siakam spoke to NBA reporter Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee about all the rumors surrounding his future.

“I don’t really pay attention to anything,” Siakam said. “I have people who work on that stuff. I play basketball. I’m a basketball player and that’s all I try to focus on.”

The Raptors can still sign Siakam to an extension this season. Toronto is 15-21. The team is in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings.
