Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors had an 18-point lead against the Denver Nuggets in the fourth quarter. It looked like the Warriors were on their way to their best win of the season.

Then, disaster struck. The Nuggets went on a 25-4 run in the final 6:34 and won the game on a Nikola Jokic 3-pointer at the buzzer. It was a brutal loss for Curry and Co.

“We were trying to like milk the clock certain possessions and started to play a lot slower than we had the whole game,” Curry said. “Then you’re subject to makes and misses with their defense set. Then on the other end, they made play after play after play.”

The Warriors have lost four games this season after leading by at least 18 points. Curry, who had a costly turnover with the game tied at 127, is doing his best to stay positive since there are still so many games left in the regular season.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors, Denver Nuggets Updates

“It helps because it keeps you motivated that we are a good team,” Curry said. “When you lose hope, like we’re not there. When you lose hope in yourself as a team, that’s when the conversation changes. We’re not there. It’s frustrating because you do lose a what-if game, we could be 21-13 and a different vibe around the team. But even with the record we are now, we know we can compete. Just a situation where you’re out there with a look of despair on your face because you’re trying to figure out how it happened. We have to find that balance right now for us to give ourselves a chance.”
