During the Phoenix Suns’ road win against the Houston Rockets last night, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker got into a passionate argument on the bench.

After the game, Durant spoke to Kelly Iko of The Athletic about what happened between him and Booker.

“I think every day, it’s about how can I put myself and my teammates in the best position to be successful,” Durant said about his talks with Booker. “And if we have that dialogue every day, regardless of how we play — watch film together, continue to keep building that relationship on the floor together — it’s only going to get better.”

The Suns defeated the Rockets by a final score of 129-113 to improve to 15-15 on the season. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Phoenix.

Durant was sensational against the Rockets. The two-time Finals MVP finished with 27 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high 16 assists in 41 minutes while shooting 9-of-16 from the field, 3-of-7 from beyond the arc and 6-of-8 from the free-throw line.

“So, tonight, it was good for us to go through some stuff early in the game to have those heated conversations where we can be like ‘All right, this is what we’re both supposed to do,’ and come back into the locker room and talk it over again,” Durant said. “Sometimes, heated conversations are good for teams because you can be honest and real with one another, and then, you talk it over and move on. We’re all figuring it out. It’s hard with a new team, new group of guys, guys in and out of the lineup. You want to get comfortable with those conversations, and I think we’re on our way there.”

Booker put up 20 points and seven assists versus the Rockets, while Eric Gordon poured in 27 points.

“It takes a collective group,” Booker said. “It’s more than just us. We see a lot of attention on both sides of the ball. So just finding the correct spacing and just trying to work from that.”

“Just keep maintaining what we need to do,” Gordon said. “We were having fun out there. Of course, we need to continue having talks, heated talks, and it’s going to work through for us.”
