Brooklyn Nets forward Mikal Bridges wasn’t happy with how his minutes were managed against the Milwaukee Bucks last night.

Bridges played the entire first quarter and then was benched for the rest of the game. It was a predetermined plan by Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn.

The Nets wanted to rest Bridges, but the coaching staff let him start the game since he has a playing streak active. Bridges has played in 423 consecutive games.

“The streak is, I guess, for everyone else to talk about,” Bridges said after the Nets-Bucks game. “But I don’t just get in there for the streak. I get in there to play the game and because I want to go out there and win. I don’t go in there to just sub in, get the streak and whatever. I just want to play.”

The Nets lost to the Bucks by a final score of 144-122. Bridges played only 12 minutes. He finished with six points and three rebounds while shooting 3-of-4 from the field.

“I guess for their purposes is why, but I’m healthy,” Bridges said. “So I [don’t] see why I wouldn’t play.”

The Nets dropped to 15-16 on the season after losing to the Bucks. They are in ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Bridges is averaging 21.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists this season while shooting 46.0% from the field, 36.3% from beyond the arc and 83.1% from the free-throw line. The swingman is second on the Nets in points per game, fourth in rebounds per game and third in assists per game.
