Former NBA star Brandon Jennings believes Kevin Durant should leave the Phoenix Suns. Jennings doesn’t think Durant deserves to be a part of the Suns since the franchise is struggling.

Terrence Ross, who played with Durant on the Suns last season, responded to Jennings’ post and said that Phoenix was doing fine before trading for Durant, seemingly throwing some shade toward the superstar.

The Suns traded Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson to the Brooklyn Nets for Durant. Phoenix won 45 games last season and went undefeated with Durant in the lineup during the regular season. Durant only played in eight games with the Suns last season due to injuries.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Kevin Durant, Phoenix Suns Updates

With Durant, Devin Booker and Chris Paul leading the way, the Suns beat the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the 2023 playoffs in five games. However, Phoenix lost to the Denver Nuggets in the semifinals in six games.

The Suns traded Paul to the Washington Wizards this past offseason for Bradley Beal and sent Deandre Ayton to the Portland Trail Blazers for Jusuf Nurkic. Sources told NBA Analysis Network that Durant urged Phoenix’s front office to acquire Beal, who has only played in six games this season.

The Suns have underachieved thus far this season. They are 15-15, good for 10th place in the Western Conference standings. There’s still a lot of time left for the team to turn its season around, but thus far, Phoenix hasn’t looked like a title contender.

For his part, Durant is averaging 30.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists this season while shooting 51.9% from the field, 46.7% from beyond the arc and 87.0% from the free-throw line. The 13-time All-Star is seventh in the NBA in total points and sixth in points per game.
