Miami Heat big man Bam Adebayo believes Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic is the toughest player to guard in the NBA.

Adebayo and the Heat faced Jokic and the Nuggets in the 2023 NBA Finals. Denver won the series in five games, with Jokic winning Finals MVP. The two-time MVP averaged 30.2 points, 14.0 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.4 blocks while shooting 58.3% from the field, 42.1% from beyond the arc and 83.8% from the free-throw line.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Bam Adebayo, Miami Heat, Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets Updates

Adebayo is one of the best defenders in the NBA, but even he was no match for Jokic in the Finals. Jokic has established himself as one of the greatest players of all time. It’s a remarkable story considering the Serbia native was a second-round pick.

Jokic has career averages of 20.5 points, 10.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists with the Nuggets. He is fourth in NBA history in triple-doubles and second in player efficiency rating. Jokic will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer one day.

For the Nuggets this season, Jokic is once again putting up terrific numbers. The five-time All-Star is averaging 26.4 points, 12.3 rebounds and 9.2 assists while shooting 54.1% from the field, 32.1% from beyond the arc and 81.4% from the free-throw line.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Bam Adebayo, Miami Heat, Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets Updates

The Nuggets are looking to become the first team since the 2018 Golden State Warriors to repeat as NBA champions. With Jokic leading the way, Denver is the betting favorite to win it all.
