One NBA writer is proposing that the Golden State Warriors acquire Rui Hachimura and Jaxson Hayes from the Los Angeles Lakers.

Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Warriors and Lakers:

The Deal: Draymond Green for Rui Hachimura and Jaxson Hayes

Hachimura can’t be traded until January 15. The swingman signed a three-year, $51 million contract with the Lakers in July in restricted NBA free agency.

Since Green has been suspended by the NBA indefinitely, Bailey thinks the Warriors should think about trading the four-time champion to the Lakers for Hachimura and Hayes.

“Hachimura is two inches taller than Green,” Bailey wrote in his NBA trade proposal. “He has a more reliable track record as a three-point shooter. He can’t replace Draymond’s playmaking, but the Warriors may need to open up some of those opportunities for CP3 and Brandin Podziemski anyway. Hayes, meanwhile, would give the Warriors the needed size that has been discussed throughout this piece.”

Hachimura is averaging 12.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists this season while shooting 48.6% from the field, 37.8% from beyond the arc and 72.7% from the free-throw line. He’s making $15.7 million.

Meanwhile, Hayes is averaging 2.9 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.4 assists while shooting 66.0% overall and 53.6% from the foul line. He’s making $2.2 million.

The Warriors are 15-15 on the season. They are in 10th place in the NBA Western Conference standings. Head coach Steve Kerr could start Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Hachimura, Jonathan Kuminga and Kevon Looney.
