One NBA writer is proposing that the Houston Rockets acquire Jordan Clarkson from the Utah Jazz.
Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Rockets and Jazz:
The Utah Jazz trade Jordan Clarkson to the Houston Rockets for Victor Oladipo, Jock Landale, a 2027 first-round pick (top-seven-protected), a 2025 second-round pick and a 2026 second-round pick
The Jazz are open to trading Clarkson, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report. Clarkson is making $23.5 million this season and Buckley believes the scoring guard can help the Rockets.

“Houston has fueled its launch on the strength of its sixth-ranked defense, but this team badly needs more offensive punch,” Buckley wrote. “The Rockets don’t have a 20-point scorer on the roster, nor a double-digit scorer on the second unit. Clarkson would immediately add more zip, plus he’d be another veteran voice to help lead this young locker room where it wants to go.”
Clarkson is averaging 17.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists this season while shooting 40.6% from the field, 30.7% from beyond the arc and 84.3% from the free-throw line. He has scored at least 20 points nine times and 30 points four times.
The Rockets are 15-12 on the season. They are in eighth place in the Western Conference standings. The team is second in the NBA in points per game allowed but only 24th in points per game. Clarkson is one of the best scorers in the league, so he would make the Rockets more explosive on offense.

Clarkson has career averages of 15.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists with the Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Jazz. It’s unknown which teams are interested in trading for Clarkson, who signed a two-year, $28 million extension with Utah in July.
