One NBA writer is proposing that the Cleveland Cavaliers acquire Draymond Green from the Golden State Warriors.
Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Cavaliers and Warriors:
The Deal: Draymond Green and a top-five protected 2027 first-round pick for Jarrett Allen and Sam Merrill
The NBA suspended Green indefinitely after the four-time champion struck Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the head. Some people around the NBA believe the Warriors need to part ways with Green and Bailey thinks the Cavaliers could benefit from adding the mercurial forward.

Cleveland could start Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Max Strus, Green and Evan Mobley if the Cavaliers’ front office made this trade Bailey came up with.
“A front line of Green and Mobley would be smaller, but it would also be more switchable than Mobley and Allen,” Bailey wrote. “Green obviously does a little more offensively than Allen, too. … Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland need and have gotten used to having the ball in their hands. But adding Green’s playmaking would open up some opportunities for offensive creativity.”
Green is averaging 9.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.7 blocks this season while shooting 49.0% from the field, 42.9% from beyond the arc and 83.3% from the free-throw line. He’s making $22.3 million.
Green has started counseling and is expected to remain sidelined via suspension for at least the next three weeks, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic. The former Defensive Player of the Year is represented by Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group.

The Cavaliers are 17-13 on the season. They are in seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings. Meanwhile, the Warriors are 15-15. They are in 10th place in the West.
