Trade Proposal Sends Bulls’ Alex Caruso To Kings

Alex Caruso

One NBA writer is proposing that the Sacramento Kings acquire Alex Caruso from the Chicago Bulls.

Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Kings and Bulls:

The Chicago Bulls trade Alex Caruso to the Sacramento Kings for Davion Mitchell, Chris Duarte, a 2026 first-round pick (top-four-protected), a 2024 second-round pick and two 2025 second-round picks (via SAC and POR)

Caruso is one of the top defenders in the NBA. The Bulls are not interested in trading Caruso, but that will not stop teams from trying to acquire the former Los Angeles Lakers guard.

The Kings are expected to be active on the trade market and Buckley believes the front office should pursue Caruso.

“Caruso, then, could be the ideal target,” Buckley wrote in his NBA trade proposal. “He’d be one of their best bets to improve their 22nd-ranked defense, and he could find several offensive fits as a ball-moving connector, a capable spot-up shooter and a savvy off-ball cutter. Plus, he holds one of the league’s best bargain contracts, as he’s owed just $9.5 million this season and has only a partial guarantee for his $9.9 million 2024-25 salary.”

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Alex Caruso, Chicago Bulls, Sacramento Kings Updates

Caruso is averaging 9.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.8 blocks this season while shooting 55.3% from the field, 46.8% from beyond the arc and 76.5% from the free-throw line. He’s making $9.5 million.

The Kings start De’Aaron Fox, Kevin Huerter, Keegan Murray, Harrison Barnes and Domantas Sabonis. They would bring Caruso off the bench as a swiss army knife if a trade with the Bulls were made.

The Kings are 17-10 on the season. They are in fourth place in the Western Conference standings. It will be interesting to see if Sacramento makes a trade before the trade deadline in February.
