Trade Proposal Sends Pistons’ Bojan Bogdanovic To Magic

One NBA writer is proposing that the Orlando Magic acquire Bojan Bogdanovic from the Detroit Pistons.

Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Magic and Pistons:

The Detroit Pistons trade Bojan Bogdanovic to the Orlando Magic for Gary Harris, Chuma Okeke, a 2024 first-round pick (top-10-protected), a 2026 second-round pick (via ORL, DET or MIL) and a 2028 second-round pick (via LAL or WAS)

The Pistons have the worst record in the NBA, while the Magic are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings. Bogdanovic is better suited to play for a playoff team like Orlando.

“If the Magic hope to have any playoff success, then their 18th-ranked offense needs an upgrade,” Buckley wrote. “They have outstanding needs for scoring and shooting, and Bogdanovic could help on both fronts. The Pistons clearly want to get some value back for Bogdanovic, and they’d have multiple paths to it with this deal. The picks would be the biggest prizes, but Harris might have value (to them or someone else) as a three-and-D guard. And while the stars have yet to align for Okeke, he’d be the kind of no-cost flier a long-term rebuilder should be taking.”

Bogdanovic is averaging 19.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists this season while shooting 47.3% from the field, 40.9% from beyond the arc and 75.7% from the free-throw line. The swingman is making $20 million.

The Magic could start Markelle Fultz, Bogdanovic, Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero and Wendell Carter Jr. if Orlando’s front office figured out a way to acquire Bogdanovic from Detroit.
