Blockbuster Trade Proposal Sends Bulls’ Nikola Vucevic, Alex Caruso To Warriors

One NBA writer is proposing that the Golden State Warriors acquire Nikola Vucevic and Alex Caruso from the Chicago Bulls.

Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Warriors and Bulls:

The Deal: Nikola Vucevic and Alex Caruso for Chris Paul, a 2026 first-round pick and a 2028 first-round pick

“For the Warriors, a team in desperate need of size and rebounding, Vucevic makes more sense than he does for the Bulls,” Bailey wrote. “His passing ability could also be reminiscent of what Andrew Bogut once provided near the height of the dynasty. His presence on the roster would create some new defensive challenges, but getting Caruso would offset that. He’s one of the best guard defenders in the NBA, and his willingness to pass and move without the ball would make him a natural fit on the other end.”

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Nikola Vucevic, Alex Caruso, Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors Updates

The Warriors could start Stephen Curry, Caruso, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Vucevic if Golden State’s front office figured out a path to acquire Caruso and Vucevic from Chicago.

Caruso is averaging 9.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.8 blocks this season while shooting 53.5% from the field, 47.2% from beyond the arc and 77.4% from the free-throw line. The All-NBA defender is making $9.5 million.

Meanwhile, Vucevic is averaging 16.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.7 blocks while shooting 44.9% from the floor, 26.8% from 3 and 86.0% from the foul line. The two-time All-Star is making $18.5 million.

The Warriors are 12-14 on the season. They are in 11th place in the Western Conference standings. The team needs to shake the roster up if they want to compete for another title, which is why Bailey believes the Warriors should trade for Caruso and Vucevic.
