Utah Jazz forward John Collins is on the trade block, according to NBA insider Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune.

The Jazz acquired Collins from the Atlanta Hawks this past offseason. Utah sent Rudy Gay and a 2026 second-round draft pick to Atlanta for Collins.

“Perhaps the biggest surprise on the trade block is new power forward acquisition John Collins, the source said,” Larsen wrote. “The 26-year-old has the lowest on-court/off-court splits of any rotation player on the team, and the team has been frustrated with his slow uptake on learning the Jazz’s system on both ends of the floor. Collins has been a solid shooter and rebounder this season, but hasn’t contributed as much elsewhere.”

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: John Collins, Utah Jazz Updates

Collins is averaging 14.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 0.9 assists this season while shooting 48.2% from the field, 38.3% from beyond the arc and 75.0% from the free-throw line. He has a plus-minus of -187.

The Jazz, led by head coach Will Hardy, are 8-16 on the season. They are in 12th place in the Western Conference standings.

Collins signed a five-year, $125 million contract with the Hawks in August 2021. He’s making $25.3 million this season. The former Atlanta star is third on the Jazz in points per game.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: John Collins, Utah Jazz Updates

The 26-year-old Collins has career averages of 15.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists with the Hawks and Jazz. It will be interesting to see if Utah trades the Wake Forest product just months after acquiring him. It’s unknown at this time if teams are interested in trading for Collins.
