One NBA writer is proposing that the Dallas Mavericks acquire Draymond Green from the Golden State Warriors.

Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Mavericks and Warriors:

The Deal: Draymond Green for Grant Williams, Richaun Holmes and a 2025 second-round pick (via Toronto)

Many people around the NBA believe the Warriors should trade Green after the four-time champion got in trouble with the league again. Green has been suspended indefinitely after striking Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the face.

The Mavericks, who are in third place in the Western Conference standings with a record of 15-8, could start Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, Derrick Jones Jr., Green and Dereck Lively II if Dallas’ front office acquired Green from Golden State.

“He can handle the ball, particularly as a roll man after setting ball screens,” Bailey wrote in his NBA trade proposal column. “His playmaking and passing ability would generate more open looks for Kyrie and Luka. Now, that would certainly take an adjustment period. Those two guards have gotten used to being the primary and secondary creators on almost every possession, but a few more off-ball opportunities for both would make the Mavericks less predictable and could juice the scoring efficiency of both a bit.”

Green is averaging 9.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.7 blocks on the season while shooting 49.0% from the field, 42.9% from beyond the arc and 83.3% from the free-throw line.

The Warriors signed Green to a four-year, $100 million contract in July. Green was slated to make $22,321,429 this season, but that number will decrease after his suspension.

It will be interesting to see what the Warriors do with Green. It would certainly be wild to see Green on another team.
