December 10 was a special day for Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James. The NBA’s all-time leading scorer got to watch his son, Bronny James, make his USC debut nearly five months after going into cardiac arrest during a workout.

Even though USC lost, it was an emotional day for LeBron and his family.

“It was everything for my family,” LeBron said. “It was just an emotional, draining day, from the time we all woke up to the time the buzzer hit zeros.”

Bronny came off the bench versus Long Beach State and played 17 minutes. He had four points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block. Bronny’s one block was a chase-down block, a play LeBron has made famous in the NBA world.

“I think the most important thing, who cares about the win or the loss, the kid was standing tall and standing strong at the end of the game,” LeBron said. “That is a blessing in its own right and that is a win. He’s won at life and everything else at this point is extra credit.”

LeBron wants to play with or against Bronny in the NBA. No father has played with or against his son in the league.

Bronny is eligible to enter the NBA next season. LeBron, who turns 39 on December 30, can become an unrestricted free agent after this season and sign with the team Bronny gets drafted by.

“That moment was everything for us to be there,” LeBron said. “To see the first person out of our family, out of the James gang, to grace a college campus and a college floor, that was pretty cool.”
