The New York Giants are 2-9 and officially in rebuild mode, but several young players have still managed to flash legitimate potential this season. Among them are rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart and running back Cam Skattebo, whose impressive debut campaign was cut short by a season-ending injury.

In the eight games he played, Skattebo rushed 101 times for 410 yards and five touchdowns before going down. Since then, he’s stayed busy attending WWE events (one clip of him at ringside exploded online), streaming on Twitch, and hanging out with popular content creator Neon.

While riding in the car with Neon, the topic of this year’s Super Bowl came up. With the Giants long eliminated, Neon asked Skattebo which team he thinks will hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

His answer raised a few eyebrows in East Rutherford.

“The Broncos are good,” Skattebo said.

“They just find a way to win games. I hate saying it — I want to say the Giants are going to win it, but the Broncos are really good, bro. They beat us.”

Denver currently owns a 9-2 record, tied for the best mark in football, fresh off a statement win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Bo Nix, in his second season, has thrived under Sean Payton, turning the Broncos into one of the AFC’s most balanced teams.

The franchise hasn’t reached a Super Bowl since Peyton Manning led them to the title in 2015. They’ve made the playoffs just once since then, bowing out in last year’s wild-card round to Buffalo with Nix making his postseason debut.

After enjoying a bye this week, Denver’s remaining schedule includes winnable games against Washington and Las Vegas before a tougher closing stretch against Green Bay, Jacksonville, Kansas City again, and the Chargers.

One thing is already clear to the injured Giants rookie watching from home: when it’s all said and done, he expects the Broncos to be the last team standing.
