Another former Wisconsin Badgers receiver is looking for a new NFL home.
The Arizona Cardinals have waived wide receiver Bryson Green as they began cutting the roster toward the regular-season deadline.
The move ends Green’s second stint with the only NFL team he has known and leaves the Allen, Texas, product as a free agent still searching for his first regular-season snap.
Green signed with Arizona as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 draft, one of several Badgers who reached the league that spring.
He was waived at the end of his first training camp, bounced on and off the practice squad in 2025, then signed a reserve/future contract in January. He returned this summer as a longshot in a crowded receiver room and did not survive the latest wave of cuts.
From a Wisconsin vantage point, the news is familiar and a little deflating. Green was never a household name on Camp Randall, but he was a useful piece in two uneven seasons.
After two years at Oklahoma State, he transferred to Madison and caught 32 passes for 480 yards and two touchdowns in 2023. His best night as a Badger came in the ReliaQuest Bowl against LSU, when he hauled in seven catches for 105 yards and a leaping 20-yard touchdown that gave Wisconsin an early lead.
In 2024, he was limited to eight games and 17 receptions for 219 yards and two scores, including a two-touchdown afternoon at Nebraska. Combined, he finished his Wisconsin career with 49 catches for 699 yards and four touchdowns in 19 games.
Those numbers were never going to guarantee a 53-man roster spot. Arizona’s depth chart has been stacked with Marvin Harrison Jr. and other veterans, and Green remained a developmental option. He never appeared in a regular-season game.
That does not close the book. Undrafted receivers often take the long way. Green is 23, listed around 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds, and still young enough that another team could add him to a practice squad if he goes unclaimed.
For Badger fans who watched him work through quarterback instability and a changing offense in Madison, the hope is simply that he gets another look.
Roster cuts are brutal and routine. Green’s path so far has been the same: signed, waived, brought back, waived again. Wisconsin fans have seen this movie with other recent alums. The difference this time is that Green still has time to rewrite the ending somewhere else.
