Former Oklahoma State defensive lineman Anthony Goodlow was released from the Carolina Panthers practice squad on Monday in a corresponding move as the team signed defensive tackle Keith Cooper Jr., the Panthers announced.
The Del City, Oklahoma, product had joined Carolina’s practice squad on September 1 after being waived by the Pittsburgh Steelers following the preseason.
His brief stint in Charlotte continued a professional journey that began as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Rams in 2024, followed by time with the Arizona Cardinals and Steelers—mostly on practice squads, with limited regular-season snaps and a handful of tackles during elevations.
For Oklahoma State fans, Goodlow’s story is rooted in Stillwater.
After five seasons and 48 games (22 starts) at Tulsa—where he earned second-team All-AAC honors in 2022—he transferred to OSU for his super senior year in 2023.
The 6-foot-5 edge defender played in all 14 games, starting nine of the final 10. He led all Cowboy defensive linemen with 42 tackles (18 solo) and finished with 7.0 tackles for loss (first among OSU defensive linemen and fourth on the team) and 3.0 sacks.
His production earned honorable mention recognition from Big 12 coaches for Defensive Newcomer of the Year, Defensive Lineman of the Year, and All-Big 12.
He recorded at least one tackle in each of his final 13 games and notched sacks against Arizona State, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M.
Goodlow’s path to OSU reflected a classic late-bloomer story from the Oklahoma City area.
At Del City High School he grew from a 5-foot-9, 160-pound sophomore safety into a 6-foot-5, 230-pound senior outside linebacker/edge who racked up 19 sacks and 30 tackles for loss while earning district player of the year honors.
That production helped him reach Tulsa, and the transfer portal later brought him to Stillwater, where he immediately contributed to the defensive front.
Now 26, Goodlow remains an undrafted free agent looking for his next opportunity after another practice-squad release.
His college résumé—particularly the productive, multi-honor 2023 campaign in orange and black—continues to define him as a tough, experienced Oklahoma product who has steadily worked his way through the NFL’s margins.
For Cowboy fans, the latest roster move is another chapter in the persistent post-college career of a Del City standout who made the most of his one year in Stillwater.
