Former Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Noah Brown was available in NFL free agency for quite some this offseason, but he finally found a home, signing with the Las Vegas Raiders over the weekend.

For Buckeye fans, the signing offers a chance to root for one of their own once again.
Brown arrived in Columbus as a highly regarded 2014 recruit out of Pope John XXIII High School in New Jersey. As a true freshman that fall, he contributed on offense and special teams across 14 games, including the College Football Playoff National Championship victory over Oregon that capped the Buckeyes’ perfect season.
Though his receiving numbers were limited (one catch for nine yards), he earned valuable experience in a loaded Urban Meyer offense and helped Ohio State claim its eighth national title.
A serious non-contact injury in fall camp the following year—a broken left tibia and fibula that required two surgeries—forced Brown to redshirt the 2015 season.
He returned stronger in 2016 and made the most of his opportunity. Starting all 13 games as a sophomore, Brown finished second on the team with 32 receptions for 402 yards and tied for the team lead with seven touchdowns. His standout performance came against Oklahoma, when he tied a school record with four receiving touchdowns on five catches for 72 yards in a 45-24 road win.
That explosive outing underscored the big-play ability and physicality that defined his time in scarlet and gray.
Across three seasons (playing in 28 games), Brown totaled 33 receptions for 411 yards and seven scores before declaring for the 2017 NFL Draft.
Selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the seventh round (239th overall), he has since carved out a steady professional career with stops in Dallas, Houston, and Washington, compiling 155 receptions for 2,083 yards and six touchdowns in 91 games.
From an Ohio State perspective, Brown’s journey reflects the resilience and championship pedigree the program develops.
He contributed to a national title as a freshman, overcame a significant injury, and delivered memorable moments in 2016 before transitioning to the NFL.
