Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is looking forward to a potential NBA playoff matchup against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, anticipating a “cinematic” showdown.

“Anytime we face LeBron, it’s always an incredible challenge, so that’s always fun,” Green said during an appearance on NBA Today.

With the Lakers holding the third seed in the Western Conference at 46-29 and the Warriors close behind in fifth at 44-31, the teams are poised for a possible early playoff meeting. They could face off as the No. 3 seed and No. 6 seed or as the No. 4 seed and No. 5 seed.

The Lakers have defeated the Warriors in all three matchups this season, though these games were played before Luka Dončić joined Los Angeles following his trade from the Dallas Mavericks.

James, a four-time MVP, is recording 24.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 8.4 assists per game, with a shooting line of 51.0% from the field, 37.4% from three-point range, and 77.1% from the free-throw line.

The Warriors have surged since acquiring star forward Jimmy Butler, going 19-5 in their last 24 games. This boost has solidified their standing as a formidable contender as the playoffs approach.

Golden State will get another look at the Lakers on Thursday night when they travel to Los Angeles. The game tips off at 10 p.m. ET, potentially previewing a thrilling playoff series between two of the NBA’s elite teams.
